Waymarking

I've gotten interested in waymarking, which is the location of places of interest by latitude and longitude coordinates. I think this will prove to be very useful to people doing genealogical research.

I plan to waymark the more important sites related to my family's history, and other sites that might be helpful to other researchers.

Here are some of the waymarks I've done. Clicking on the Waymark Link will take you to the waymark on waymarking.com.

Photo Waymark Link Description
WM665B Old Camden burying ground, Pennville, Jay County, Indiana. This Old is where William G. Hopkins and other Hopkins family were buried. It's just east of town, with a mixture of old and new style monuments.
WM46J5 Darrtown Cemetery, Ohio (visit). My grandfather, Arthur Howard Hopkins is buried in the Darrtown cemetery.
WM6AN2 Waynesville Friends burying ground, Ohio. The Waynesville Friends burying ground contained a number of old Quaker burial markers, but many of the monuments had been moved to the side. I didn't find a grave marker for Hezekiah Hopkins there.
WM63J4 Saar Pioneer Cemetery, Washington. The Saar Pioneer Cemetery is located in Kent, Washington. This cemetery has been well documented, but it hadn't been waymarked yet.
WM6GJM Gravelly Lake Old Settlers Cemetery, Lake City, Pierce County, Washington. This is one of the earliest cemeteries in the county. There have been two recent surveys of the cemetery, plus an old newspaper article about it.
WM6GGY Fort Steilacoom Cemetery is located on what are now the grounds of Western State Hospital in Lakewood, Pierce County, Washington. This is the monument of former Territorial Governor William H. Wallace.
