In the name of the Benevolent Father of all
I Thomas Edmondson do Make and publish this My last Will and testament.
Item 1st    It is my will that all My just debts and funeral charges shall be paid out of My estate.
Item 2nd    I do hereby Will and bequeath to My beloved Wife Mary Ellen Edmondson all of My Estate both Real and personal and all properties of every Kind and description.
Item 3rd    I do hereby nominate and appoint My beloved Wife My Executrix of My estate without giving Bond.
In Testimony thereof I have hereunto Set My hand and Seal this 27th day of December 1878.

Testament in Our presence and Signed by us in his Presence.

Before Me R. T. Hammons Clerk of Jay Circuit Court personally Came John
Sutton one of the Subscribing Witnesses of the foregoing last Will and
testament of Thomas Edmondson late of Jay County deceased and being duly
Sworn on his oath says that he was present at the execution of said last
will, that the same was duly executed, that at the time of the execution
thereof said testator was of full age to devise his property of sound Mind
and Memory and not under any coercion or restraint, that said testator
requested him to sign said Will as Witness thereof Which he accordingly
did in the presence of testator and in the presence of Adelina Lupton the
Other Subscribing Witness thereto.

Note: This was Thomas W. Edmondson, son of Thomas Edmondson and Elizabeth Neal. He was born in Pennsylvania, married Mary Ellen Birdsall at Goose Creek Meeting in Fairfax County, Virginia in January 1867, and moved to Indiana.
