The Healey Family

The Healey family in Southwark were friends and fellow Quakers with the Hopkins family. James Healey was apprenticed to William Hopkins on 6 Jul 1692. James was the son of Richard and Dorcas (Assell) Healey of Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire. He married Mary Cross, daughter of Paul and Mary (Thompson) Cross on 27 Nov 1701 in the Southwark meeting.

James and Mary seem to have been close friends with Benjamin and Sarah (Haddon) Hopkins. The two women were witnesses at several of the other's children's births. For more about their connections, please see this page.
